ROMIC Group have been involved in a number of exciting TV and film productions, providing locomotives and rolling stock for filming work around the country.

We have direct experience of working with filming and production companies, and with location scouts. In fact, our knowledge of the UK rail network is such that we can assist and advise in all aspects of any TV or film production involving trains.

From our own stock we can provide the following:

• Classic diesel-electric locomotives including the iconic InterCity 125 – suitable for 1970s to present day
• Passenger rolling stock (carriages / coaches) including standard class, first class, sleeper and buffet cars – suitable for 1970s to present day
• Workshop and warehouse facilities as well as locomotive spare parts for set assembly

Heritage railway base for TV and film

Our base at the Mid Norfolk Railway near Dereham provides 11 miles of operational track offering numerous locations and possibilities for filming & film / TV production work.

With a mix of vintage and modern trains, coaches and wagons, we can set the scene for any time period, as well as provide a mix of rural and countryside backdrops.

Dereham main station is a bustling terminus offering versatile filming opportunities, and County School is a unique rural station. Out and about on the line we have level crossings, sheds, signal boxes and bridges, all of which are a perfect backdrop for railway location filming.

Studio & mobile filming

If you can’t come to us, we can come to you. We have extensive experience of movement of locomotives and rolling stock by road and rail, and can deliver to your studio or location. We can even deliver and assemble track on-site.

We also have experience of supply of modified coaching stock for mobile filming applications.
