From 2005 the class was extensively overhauled and life-extended with the original Paxman Valenta power units being replaced with MTU 4000 units.
The HST is formed of Mk3 passenger coaches with a Class 43 power car at each end. The trainset can be configured with coaches as required, with available options including:
- Standard class seating - mix of airline and table seating in a 2+2 configuration
- First class seating - table seating in a 2+1 configuration
- Standard class seating with guard / train manager accommodation
- Composite (standard and first) class seating with catering area
- Catering coaches
The Class 43 offers a proven high-speed, long-distance passenger solution for non-electrified lines, with comfortable air-conditioned passenger accommodation fully modernised to contemporary standards.
ROMIC Group is able to offer these trainsets worldwide, having already supplied in Mexico and Nigeria. We can provide an end-to-end service including shipping from the UK, training and handover, and provide a support package of spare parts including major spares such as engines, alternators and bogies.
We welcome expressions of interest from interested parties.
